Relationship of Education and Long Work with Nursering Anxiety Levels in Handling Emergency Patients in Sawerigading Hospital, Palopo City

Emergency department as the main gate for handling emergency cases plays an important role in efforts to save the lives of patients. Emergency treatment has a philosophy that is Time Saving it's Live Saving. Anxiety is a cognitive phenomenon, where a person feels that something will happen outside his will and cannot be predicted. The anxiety faced by nurses will greatly affect the quality of nursing services provided to patients and families in the emergency department. The methodology in this research is to use a cross sectional study design by observing and distributing questionnaire sheets. The sample in this study were all nurses who served in the ER and ICU Sawerigading District Hospital. Palopo in September-Oktober 2019, amounting to 32 respondents. Results: the majority of the undergraduate respondents' educational level were 27 respondents (84.4%), the length of work (> 5 years) were 19 respondents (59.4%) and the moderate anxiety level was 23 respondents (71.9%). Statistical test results showed that there was a significant relationship between education (p-value 0.021 (<0.05)) and length of work (p-value 0.040 (<0.05)) with the level of anxiety of nurses in handling emergency patients at RSUD Sawerigading Palopo city. It can be concluded that education and length of work have a relationship with the level of anxiety of nurses in handling emergency patients in RSUD Sawerigading Palopo city.
