PEMANFAATAN MINYAK JELANTAH (Waste Cooking Oil) DALAM PEMBUATAN LILIN AROMA TERAPI

Abstract

Used Cooking Oil is waste oil that can be derived from types of cooking oil such as corn oil, vegetable oil, refined oil and so on. Utilization of used cooking oil can be facilitated by making wax preparations. The purpose of this study is to make candles made from waste oil with aromatherapy from lavender flowers, to introduce new insights about candles that can be made from waste and to find out the melting point, aromas and therapist effects felt from aromatherapy aromatherapy candles made from used cooking oil. with melting and organoleptic test points.This type of research is an experiment with a laboratory test approach. This research was conducted in the Stikes Bhakti Pertiwi Luwu Raya Palopo Pharmacy laboratory. The sample used was taken from Pelalan Village, East Lamasi District, Luwu Regency. The formulation of wax making is determined by making 3 (three) formulas with used cooking oil concentration 2 times, 3 times usage and 4 times usage. To obtain wax preparations with the best formula, physical evaluation tests are carried out including organoleptic tests and melting point tests.The results showed that used cooking oil can be used in the manufacture of aromatherapy candles as a fuel candle, both used cooking oil which has been used more than 2 times, the results of organoleptic tests on aromatherapy candles that are made get positive results in its reception.
