Antibiotic prescribing profiles in paediatric respiratory tract infections (ISPA) patients AT-Medika Hospital Palopo City Period July-December 2018

The upper respiratory tract infection is an acute infection that causes inflammation and infections of the nose and throat. The most common ispas occur in children. This happens because the body's immune system decreases. This research aims to determine the antibiotical prescribing in paediatric sufferers of ISPA disease in the hospital at-Medika Palopo period July to December 2018. This study was conducted with a descriptive observational research method using retrospective data obtained from medical records. The results showed that from 40 samples that were in patients with less than 12 years of age who were diagnosed with ispah at the hospital at-Medika Palopo in 2018, ceftriaxone antibiotic use as many as 5 patients (12.5%), Cefadroxil 9 patients (22.5%), cefotaxime as much as 12 patients (30%) and Cefixime as many as 14 patients (35%). Showed Cefixime antibiotics the third generation of cephalosporins most commonly used for paediatric patients at-Medika hospital in 14 patients with a percentage (35%) In the period of July-December 2018.
